Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to every quote, order and booking with Neave Linguistic Services ("Neave"). By placing an order, booking a session or paying an invoice, you agree to them.

Not legal advice

Neave is not a law firm. We are not attorneys licensed to practice law in Texas and may not give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice. We do not choose immigration forms, give advice about immigration cases or represent clients before any agency. We are not affiliated with USCIS or any government agency.

Services

We provide translation, certified translation, proofreading, interpreting (in person, by phone and by video) and Texas notary services. The scope, price and turnaround of each job are set in the quote, booking or invoice.

Quotes and prices

Quotes are valid for 30 days and are based on the files you send. If the final documents differ (more words, pages or harder formatting), we will send a revised quote before starting. Listed prices are card prices; payment by bank transfer (ACH) receives the discount shown on your quote.

Payment

Orders under $500 are paid in full before work begins. Orders of $500 or more require a 50% deposit, with the balance due on delivery or within 7 days of the invoice for interpreting assignments. Online interpreting sessions are paid in full when booked. Late invoices may be paused until paid.

Your responsibilities

You confirm that you have the right to share the documents you send and that they are complete and legible. You are responsible for checking names, dates and spellings in the source documents. Turnaround starts when we have both the files and payment.

Certified translations

Certified translations include a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy. They are prepared to meet the standards of USCIS, U.S. courts and schools, but the receiving agency or institution makes its own decisions. If an agency rejects a translation because of our error, we will correct it at no charge.

Corrections

Tell us about any error within 14 days of delivery and we will correct our mistakes free of charge. Changes to the source document after delivery are billed as new work.

Interpreting

Interpreters render what is said accurately and neutrally and do not give advice. Online sessions start and end at the booked time. Medical and legal sessions must be booked on the Medical & Legal page; if we determine that a session booked as General was medical or legal, we will invoice the price difference, payable within 7 days. Court hearings and depositions are not offered through online booking.

Confidentiality

We keep your documents and sessions confidential, and our linguists sign confidentiality agreements. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

Limitation of liability

Our total liability for any claim related to a job is limited to the amount you paid for that job. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including delays caused by agencies, courts, carriers or events outside our control.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Texas. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Harris County, Texas.
